About

Since I was three I have been obsessed with wrestling. I grew up with the likes of Hulk Hogan, 'Macho Man' Randy Savage and The Ultimate Warrior. One of my earliest memories is Jake 'The Snake' Roberts catching Randy Savage in the ropes and allowing Damien (his 10ft. python) to bite his arm. I was livid. Ten years later and I was fighting tiredness every Friday night to watch the repeat of WWF Raw is War. By this point, I was watching wrestling in a completely different way. I knew it wasn't 100% real but I was still hooked. To wrestling fans, it's more than a couple of guys in spandex aggressively hugging each other. It's about the theatre, the spectacle and the storytelling. When an opportunity to produce a documentary in which I would wrestle in a match appeared, I jumped at the chance. The only problem was, I only had a month to train for a match in front of a live, sold out crowd.

Frequently Asked Questions

You do know that wrestling isn't real?

I still get people telling me wrestling is 'fake' at least once a week. People say it like the fans don't know that what we're watching isn't a legitimate fight. Wrestling isn't about fighting. Any fan realises wrestling is a little bit silly, we realise that the acting is terrible and we realise that the winner is pre-determined. But that doesn't matter because we still find it incredibly entertaining. "To those who believe in the beauty of professional wrestling, nothing needs to be said. For those who don't appreciate wrestling, nothing could be said to change their minds." ~ Vince McMahon

Did those chops hurt?

A lot.

Why did you willingly allow someone kick you in the testicles?

Because I was playing a heel character (villain), it was important that I was able to safely exercise a move like a kick to the groin without actually sterilising someone by doing so. Unfortunately, I didn't get to use it in my match. Kris Kay, if you're reading this, I owe you one kick in the testicles.

Do you still wrestle?

I don't. I'm now concentrating on producing and directing documentaries (amongst other things) on a full time basis. However, I'd really like to get involved with a British promotion in some way.

What is your finishing move?

Crippler crossface. Obviously.

Who is your favourite wrestler?

Right now it's got to be Daniel Bryan. My favourite wrestler of all time is either Curt Hennig or Mick Foley.
